Pravin Anand, Managing Partner of Anand and Anand, completed his law studies and was admitted to the Bar, India, in 1979. Since then, in a career spanning almost 4 decades, he has become a leading figure in intellectual property law and also in representing many of the world’s leading companies and institutions. He has worked tirelessly to create one of the most innovative and forward-thinking law firms in India.

Under the leadership of Pravin, the firm has taken on board a series of creative approaches to promote and increase the awareness of IP law among legal students and the wider business community. He has been Counsel in a large number of landmark IP cases including the first Anton Piller order (HMV cases), the first Mareva Injunction Order (Philips case), the first Norwich Pharmacal Order (Hollywood Cigarettes case), first order under the Hague Convention (Astra Zeneca case), and many significant cases for pharma clients such as Novartis, Pfizer, and Roche.

Prominent career highlights, awards, achievements, and accolades include: Winner FT Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers 2015 Awards; Co-authored Halsbury’s Law of India – Intellectual Property, Vol 20 (1) and (2); Past President of FICPI India, AIPPI Indian National Group, APPA India, and Asia Euro Forum; AIPPI Gold Medal recipient; and Lifetime Achievement Awards – the prestigious National Law Day Award 2010 and the Legal Era Magazine IPR Award 2014.
